Designing Gridview at runtime

7 years 10 months ago - 7 years 10 months ago #1 by Adeo IT Raesfeld
Hi there,
your documantation is very bad .....

i try to design the View at runtime ... the autoaddcoloumns function is bad, because there are ALL fields of the dataset visible ...
So .. if i cant save load the layout i have to design this at the runtime/Startup ...

to add i have found this :
FireDataGrid1.View.AddColumn('gruppe','gruppe') ;

But how can i change some other properties of the columns like the width .....
Autowidth is no option, cause with long strings i see only this one ....

Cheers
Andreas

Unfortunately, in current version under the design-time you can - create a view, attach dataset to it and configure the view options. You can not change the column settings from the designer.

Sorry .... i cant change the Settings of the View ?
Not in Design or Runtime ?

Why should i Use this grid then ?
the Grid is then unusable !!
So i Paid a lot of money for a not realy working Grid ?
When do you think that functions like Load and Save Gridsettings / change view settings like properties as colwidth and many other settings for a viewable usage ?

I dont understand why you Sale products that are not working. It is nice that sorting and Grouping works with a dataset, but if no one can read the data in the view cause the coloumns are not visible or to small , it makes no sense ....

So ... if possible i want my money back.... or a grid that is usable , if it will be in a couple of weeks, it is OK ....

Cheers
Andreas

I am sorry that you are not satisfied with the product. But I have to make a few clarifications. I meant that you can change the properties of the view from the design-time. Options for columns are not available in the design-time. However, you can customize the columns from the code. I enclose two screenshots to illustrate the idea.

Regarding load/save the grid layout, we can improve this functionality within a week if you are willing to wait. If you insist on money-back, i ask you to send a request to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. Hi there,
that was my question in the subject...
if i can set this option at runtime it is OK ..
If we get the Save and Load Option in 3 Weeks ... it is also ok ...

so i will say sorry and wait hopefully for the next version :-)

Cheers Andreas
